is seeking an Early Career Mechanical Designer for our Lenexa, KS office. We are looking for ideal candidates to grow the Kiewit team by helping establish, maintain, and improve company standards and tools while also utilizing these standards and tools to contribute to project success. Candidates shall be familiar with current drawing and technical tools, programs, and software with an understanding of design documentation creation and layouts. Candidates shall be capable of exhibiting flexibility in work assignments while maintaining a growth mindset and continuing to develop in their technical and professional career.

Location:
This position is based in our Lenexa, KS office.

Responsibilities:
* Utilize SmartPlant P&ID to draft Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) based on direction from design engineers.
* Create mechanical sketches, layouts, and detail drawings.
* Develop and check design deliverables in accordance with industry codes and standards, contract requirements, and company standards.
* Develop the capability to navigate 3D models and check for interferences and constructability.
* Complete miscellaneous tasks to support the project or department development.
* Coordinate with other design partners (both internal and external) including construction partners, equipment suppliers, and other engineers and designers assigned to the project or task and review work progress and results.
* Ability to take on more complex tasks and assignments as directed by the Lead Designer.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Computer Aided Design and Drafting Technology or related field.
* Knowledge of design software such as SmartPlant, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Inventor, or SolidWorks.
* Proficient in basic computing programs including the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
* 0 - 2 years of industry-related design experience.

Natoma Manufacturing

As a CNC Machinist you are responsible for setting up and operating CNC Mills, 5-Axis Mills or other various CNC machinery as well as partial inspection and verification of component parts. We need quality craftsmen who can be creative and provide solutions to complex problems on a daily basis.
• Setup and operate CNC Mills, 5-Axis Mills or other various CNC machinery.
• Read operator/process documents and perform setups and operations as described
• Read blueprints and part sheet to determine proper approach to creating precision parts.
• Machine complex components to tight tolerances in various materials with tight deadlines
• Use various inspection and measurement tools to validate your work
• Work as a team by openly collaborating fellow team members
• Proactively communicate with management other team members through verbal and written communications
• Maintain shop equipment as required
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Participate in continuous improvement projects for the department and company

Qualifications:
• Basic understanding of blueprint reading preferred, but not required
• Basic knowledge in the use of measurement and inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauge pins, bore gauges, optical comparator, etc.

Education and/or Experience:

Shifts Available:
Day Shift is 6:00am – 4:30pm Monday to Thursday
Night Shift is 4:00pm – 2:30am Monday to Thursday
3-day weekends and opportunity for overtime available!

Competitive Wages:
Starting wage for this position is $15.00/hour - $20.00/hour. Pay is negotiable and based on applicant’s education and/or work experience. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at Natoma Manufacturing.

• Conduct visual and dimensional inspection on manufactured component parts to ensure compliance with customer requirements and blueprint specifications
• Measure with precision inspection equipment

The Manufacturing Intern will gain exposure to internal operations at Natoma Manufacturing, LLC through hands-on experience in manufacturing, engineering, and other areas of the company. Work on a project that relates to manufacturing or engineering. Build leadership and technical skills in a manufacturing role, working on challenging, real-world problems and solve for what the world needs.

This will be a temporary/seasonal position during the summer with the opportunity for continued part-time work during the school year or full-time work after graduation.

OPEN TO HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE STUDENTS.

Responsibilities:
• Participate in training programs that includes the Production, Deburring, and Quality Departments.
• Assist in key departmental projects and required job duties.
• Gain understanding of the manufacturing process controls.
• Works with the team to assist in the production of quality machined component parts, conduct in-process inspections to all standards of presentation and quality, and      primary cleaning, secondary detection and removal of foreign objects and debris.
• Present findings and lessons learned to Executive Management at the end of the internship.
