    Job Description:
    Barton County Community College is seeking applications for a full time replacement maintenance position (Mechanical Systems Technician). Must be able to work flexible hours and be capable of lifting up to 100 lb. Applicants must be able to pass a motor vehicle report, pre-employment drug test, background check, and have an excellent driving record. Applicants must be able to pass pre-employment Physical Capacity Profile testing. Responsibilities: Maintenance & repair of College buildings & mechanical systems (plumbing/HVAC/Electrical). Mechanical aptitude and experience; completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school, or 2 years equivalent experience. The hourly rate for this position is $14.82 to $16.42.     Job Description *

    The City of Colby Electric Department is accepting applications for an Apprentice and Journeyman Lineman. This position performs semiskilled to skilled work (under direct supervision) in the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical distribution and transmission lines, traffic signal system, transformers, and substation involving exposure to high voltage hot lines. Successful applicants will possess a high school diploma or equivalent; the knowledge of methods, materials, and tools used in power line construction and maintenance as applied to distribution and transmission lines; the ability to perform heavy physical work; lift and carry 100 pounds; work in varying weather conditions, operate trucks and equipment and work safely on energized lines. The applicant needs to have ability to obtain a valid Class A CDL with airbrakes. Relocation assistance and benchmark incentives for every course completed.     Responsibilities
    Under general supervision, maintain machinery, equipment, facilities or vehicles as needed and as efficiently and timely as possible.
    Repair and perform preventative maintenance to ensure the most efficient operation.
    Identify and diagnose problems on equipment and continually monitor equipment while initiating appropriate repair processes.
    Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
    Inspect parts, replacements, alignment, balancing, installation, and refurbishment on a wide variety of equipment.
    Coordinate with the supervisor on tasks ranging from simple part replacement, advanced troubleshooting, and preventative/predictive maintenance interventions ensuring that equipment is properly configured and/or set up.
    Install, maintain, rebuild, and replace parts, equipment, and machinery and troubleshoot maintenance problems.
    Perform maintenance planning and scheduling activities to assign equipment work orders.
    Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed or directed.

    Minimum Qualifications (required)
    Currently enrolled in Welding, Diesel Mechanic or Millwright related degree program
