    About the Role

    The Plant Operator will be responsible for operating all equipment associated with solvent extraction of oil from soybeans and canola in the plant. The Plant Operator will be responsible for monitoring equipment, operating control systems, processing samples, testing samples, and utilizing computers for data entry daily. The Plant Operator will also be required to follow all safety policies and perform their duty in a safe manner.

    The Plant Operator will work 12 hour rotating shifts.

    • Control production operations involving many variables (flows, pressures, temperatures, etc.) by observing field temperature gauges, pressure gauges and flow meters frequently to regulate and maintain required process parameters, making adjustments as needed.
    • Operate and maintain distillation, extraction, hexane tanks and other equipment that run as a continuous process in the final step of extracting oil from soybeans and canola.
    • Operate and maintain the soybean & canola crush plant.
    • Daily equipment checks to ensure equipment is functioning and maintained.
    • Actively participate in all aspects of safety, including near miss reporting and meetings.
    • Monitor equipment and document process log sheet readings.
    • Work with chemicals in a PSM environment.

    About You

    • High School Diploma/GED required
    • Ability to operate various types of machinery, required
    • Ability to look at computer screens for a long period of time

    About the Role

    The Superintendent will oversee the daily operation of a Scoular facility, ensure the safety of location employees, direct non-exempt laborers, assist with recruitment and training of employees, perform an operational role, and enhance Scoular’s ability to operate and grow our business.

    • Partner with the business managers and merchants to coordinate all transportation and maintenance needs for the facility to ensure on-time deliveries.
    • Responsible for product quality, quantity and inventories. Responsible for inbound and outbound product flow. Ensure equipment is functional, safe and in good repair.
    • Accountable for providing impeccable service to our customers.
    • Direct vendors and customers in the daily processes of the property.

    • Supervise and assist facility staff in daily activity. Responsible for scheduling laborers to meet work demands. Provide assistance with recruitment, training and direction of assigned facility personnel.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Implementation and support of the John Deere Tech Stack across various agricultural settings in the United States and Canada
    • Ensure effective training and support for customers utilizing Advanced Guidance (AutoPath, Implement Guidance, and Turn Automation), Machine Sync, Data Sync, Work Planner and other Deere technologies.
    • Set up and fine-tuning of John Deere’s Operations Center for Customers.

    Requirements:

    4. Licenses: Possess a valid driver’s license and ability to get a passport with a clean record (no DUI’s)
    5. Agricultural Knowledge: Strong understanding of agriculture and farming operations with hands-on experience to “talk the talk.” You will maintain farm experience by operating equipment on a farm in Northeast Nebraska throughout the year.  
    6. Commitment: Ability to travel and work long hours during busy seasons to ensure customers receive thorough and effective training with limited downtime to the operation.
