Fort Hays Tech | Northwest is hiring CDL trainers. We have recently revamped our CDL training program to meet the current federal regulations. The program consists of eight short courses; some are classroom-based reviews for written exams and others are individualized courses for practice driving on the range and road. We also offer courses for the (S), (P), (H), (N), and (T) endorsements.
Duties vary based on experience and preferences.
- Classroom instruction: Help students prepare for written exams. These positions will be paid an adjunct contract for teaching.
- Practice Driving: Help students learn how to drive commercial vehicles. These positions will be paid an hourly wage; hours are to be arranged with students in the CDL program.
- Record keeping/documentation: Must comply with federal guidelines for tracking student hours; must be able to use the federal portal to submit reports

Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience as a commercial driver (i.e. combination vehicle; school bus: passenger vehicle)
- Valid Class A CDL License
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Good driving record: No more than 3 moving violations in the last 2 years; no suspensions; no history of DUI or DWI; no preventable accidents
Preferred Qualifications
One or more of the following Endorsements: (S), (P), (H), (N), and (T)
