Fort Hays Tech | Northwest is a public, two-year technical college located in Goodland, Kansas.  The College is seeking a qualified instructor to launch its new face-to-face, hands-on Powersports program.

This program will provide students the knowledge and experience to diagnose, service, and repair major components of ATVs and outdoor power equipment - essentially most equipment used in outdoor activities that has an engine.  Program courses include: Shop Orientation/Safety (includes OSHA 10); Suspension and Steering; Wheel Alignment Diagnosis & Repair; Brakes, Wheels and Tires; Electrical; Electronics; Engine Performance and Preventative Maintenance; Powersports Drive Systems; Engine Diagnosis Skills and Repair; AC, Heating & Ventilation Systems; Cylinder Head & Valve Train Diagnosis & Repair; Engine Block Assembly Diagnosis & Repair; Advanced Engine Performance; Lube/Cooling System Diagnosis & Repair.

The position starts in March to provide faculty the time to prepare the facility, curriculum, and assist with student recruitment.  The first group of students will start in August 2024. Industry experience in the field is essential and a Bachelor’s degree in a related area is required; however, successful candidates with less than a Bachelor’s degree will have three years, with financial assistance provided, to meet this accreditation requirement.
